Michael J. McDermott

Michael J. McDermott has been writing professionally on financial, business and technology topics for more than 25 years.  He is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, the National Writers Union (UAW Local 1981/AFL-CIO) and Mensa – The International High IQ Society.  His staff experience in the 1970s and 1980s includes:

Michael J. McDermott was a featured columnist in Crain's New York Business for six years and created its Small Business column, a feature that still runs in the weekly business publication.  He regularly covered topics such as technology and key business sectors in New York City, including real estate, finance and insurance.  He developed and wrote a regular column on retailing for Brandweek, a weekly business magazine covering the marketing industry.  Currently, he pens a regular column—Creative Business—on business ingenuity for Creative Living magazine (a Forbes, Inc. publication) and is a featured columnist in the Work & Money section of The Christian Science Monitor.
